Silent Rave at Cornell University to be Powered by Student Startup

“If you happen to be walking through Cornell University's Ithaca, NY campus this Thursday, you may notice a ˜silent rave', taking place in one of the university's oldest buildings. What may appear to be masses of people dancing wildly to no apparent music, is actually the extension of a global phenomenon known also known as a silent disco, making one of its first appearances in Ithaca, NY. Silent raves have become the accepted term for an event where people dance to music transmitted to wireless headphones, making for a noiseless event.

The company delivering this innovative event concept goes by Party Headphones, and was founded by three Cornell students after developing a business plan for an entrepreneurship class last spring semester. œThis technology is still new to the US, but we find that everyone who's been to an event absolutely loves it said Jacob Reisch, CEO of Party Headphones. When you see people dancing to no apparent music, it's definitely strange”but put on a pair yourself and you're sucked into an unforgettable experience, he added.

Having now provided for events at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC and major corporate events across the United States, Party Headphones is poised for rapid expansion after launching their new website at www.fsscart.com. The silent rave is now gaining global attention and has become an integral part of the nations largest music festivals. While some enjoy the ability to speak to friends without straining their vocal cords, prefer to party later into the night or like offering 2 channels of music at the same time, others just like the idea of doing something new and exciting.
